Tuition Assistance:

Tuition Assistance (TA) is a benefit paid to eligible active duty members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard. The TA program pays tuition and fees for approved courses taken by active duty personnel. Service members may use the Montgomery G.I. Bill (MGIB) "Top-Up" program or the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill Education Program in addition to their service provided TA program to help pay the higher tuition costs. Each service has its own eligibility criteria, service requirements, application process, and restrictions associated with its TA program. The following information can help you connect with the appropriate service and complete the application process. Army Tuition Assistance:
The Army Continuing Education System has an automated tuition assistance program called GoArmyEd. GoArmyEd is an online portal that automates the paper-based processes for soldiers and requires active duty soldiers to request TA online for classroom, distance learning and eArmyU online college courses.

Air Force Tuition Assistance:
Apply for Tuition Assistance online using the Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC). Before accessing the online TA request process, applicants must create a user name and password on the AFVEC. There are six steps to completing the AFVEC and airmen access the Air Force Portal at
http://www.my.af.mil to complete the steps.

Navy Tuition Assistance:
TA is available to both Naval Officer and Enlisted active duty personnel and Naval Reservists on continuous active duty. Contact the Navy College Office to receive educational counseling in person, by email at
ncc@navy.mil, or call 1-877-253-7122 and discuss with a Navy College advisor how to complete a TA Application form NETPDTC 1560/3.

* Marine Tuition Assistance: Marine TA
First-time students must complete a TA Orientation Class prior to using TA. All Marines should proceed to their local base Lifelong Learning or Education Office and must apply for and receive written authorization for TA through the appropriate education office, prior to enrollment using form NETPDTC 1560/3.

Coast Guard Tuition Assistance:
Coast Guard TA assists eligible active duty, reserve and civilian employees in funding off-duty approved education courses. The TA process is centralized at the USCG Institute through a consolidated system managed by the U.S. Naval Education and Training Professional Development and Technology Center (NETPDTC) in Pensacola, Fla. The Coast Guard Institute approves the TA Application (CG-4147) , inputs the data into the Navy's computer database and then issues the TA Authorization form (CGI-1560). The applicant then takes the CGI-1560 to the school during registration and the institution bills the Navy (NETPDTC) for payment of the TA.

Army Reserve (USAR) Tuition Assistance:
The USAR offers opportunities for qualified reserve soldiers to receive financial assistance to pursue their education. Soldiers voluntarily complete their education on personal time. Army Reservists may go to:
http://rcms.ocar.army.pentagon.mil/education/ and sign in using their AKO login and password to submit TA requests online.

* Navy Reserve (USNR) Tuition Assistance:
There are currently no TA programs for the Navy Reserve, but if sailors are activated under Title 10, they will qualify for the active duty Navy TA program.

* Marine Reserve (USMCR) Tuition Assistance:
There are currently no TA programs for the USMCR, but if marines are activated under Title 10, they will qualify for the active duty Marine TA program.

* Air Force Reserve (USAFR) Tuition Assistance: Air Force Reserve Website
The USAFR supports the professional and education goals of Air Force Reservists and provides several voluntary education programs for its reserve members. Army National Guard (ARNG) Tuition Assistance:
The ARNG helps qualifying part-time ARNG soldiers achieve their education through the Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) Program and the State Tuition Program. Air National Guard (ANG) Tuition Assistance:
The Air National Guard provides access to federal tuition assistance for Active/Guard Reservist (AGR) members for distance learning courses, and state education benefits to all members of the ANG. Visit the ANG Benefits website to determine the available state benefits.

Military Spouses

Eligible military spouses are now able to receive up to $6,000 of MyCAA Financial Assistance (FA) that can help them pursue education, training, licenses, certificates and degrees leading to employment in Portable Career fields. For more information visit: https://aiportal.acc.af.mil/mycaa/default.aspx

 

Veterans

 These benefits may be used for degree and certificate programs and correspondence courses. The Registrar's office has the forms available and can assist you in filling them out, and we will submit them to VA.
